Laia Duran is a dancer, creator, dance teacher and movement assistant.
In 2005 she graduated from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona with a specialisation in contemporary dance and in 2018 she graduated from the Higher Dance Studies in Choreography and Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de María de Ávila in Madrid.
In 2023 she completed the Postgraduate in Performing Arts and Education in the itinerary of Scenic and Pedagogical Projects at the Institut del Teatre de Vic.
As a performer she has worked with companies such as Ballet Junior de Genève (Switzerland), Staatstheater Darmstadt (Germany), Ballet Mainz (Germany), Luzern Theater (Switzerland), Gross Dance Company (Holland), Nierka Production (UK), The Forsythe Company (Germany), Marina Mascarell (Holland), Contrapunctus Danceport (Spain) and Sommer Ballet (Denmark). Since 2012 she has been a member of Marcos Morau's company La Veronal.
She has also collaborated as a dancer, actress and movement assistant for theatre directors such as Àlex Rigola, Carlota Subirós, Nao Albet and Oriol Pla.
In 2022 she received the Butaca Award as best female performer for "La Honte" by HOTEL Colectivo Escénico.
In 2019 she was nominated for the Critics' Awards as best female performer for "Taverne" by HOTEL Colectivo Escénico.
In 2018, together with other colleagues from the same generation of the Institut del Teatre, she created HOTEL Colectivo Escénico.
HOTEL aims to be a space for the creation and production of shows through collaboration and exchange between the performers that make up the collective and the creators that we ourselves choose to direct us.
