Laura Fernández Castelló, born in Valencia, she began her dance studies at a very early age in different schools in her city. Her interests led her to go abroad to take part in dance courses such as the course at the Rosella Hightower School in Cannes (France), and different events with national and international choreographers.
In 1996, she took the leap to enter the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany, where she obtained a diploma in classical and contemporary dance, composition, dance theory and choreology under the guidance of Dr. Lohmann in 1999.
At the same time, she graduated in classical and contemporary ballet at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Valencia.
From 1997 to 1999 she worked for the Volkstheater Rostock (Germany), as a guest artist in ballets such as Coppelia and Romeo and Juliet. In the last year she also took part in productions with the Tanz Forum in Cologne together with the Cologne Philharmonic, as well as with the company Euregio Tanz-Forum in Heerlen (Netherlands), both under the direction of the choreographer Jochen Ulrich.
She joined the Ballet Theater München am Gärtnerplatz (Germany) where she danced as a soloist from 1999 to 2004, under the direction of Philip Taylor, dancing the repertoire of the director and guest choreographers such as Rui Horta, Jiri Kylian, Robert Cohan or Cayetano Soto among others.
In 2004 she joined the Rhine Opera Ballet in Mulhouse (France) as a soloist, under the direction of Bertrand d'At. She danced classical repertoire and worked with guest choreographers such as Davide Bombana, Maryse Delente, Nacho Duato, Lucinda Childs, Andonis Foniadakis, David Nixon and many others.
In 2006 she said goodbye to the stage and joined choreographer Cayetano Soto as a repetiteur and assistant choreographer. She worked for him in numerous companies in Europe and America.
She is also a guest teacher in numerous companies, schools and summer workshops in Spain and in the Valencian Community.
Laura is also a repetiteur and assistant to the choreographer Annett Ghöre, with whom she works in different dance and opera companies in Germany and Beijing (China). She also assists the choreographer Ihsan Rustem for several theatres in Europe such as the theatre in Ulm (Germany), Innsbruck (Austria) or Ekodance in Torino (Italy).
From the summer of 2018 until now she works for the company Joven Valencia Dancing Forward, as balletmaster, repetiteur, staging and assistant to choreographers such as Gustavo Ramírez, Ramon Oller, Philip Taylor, Ihsan Rustem, or Nacho Duato.
In 2020 and 2021 Laura teaches classical dance and repertoire courses to professionals in 180 (Madrid) with repertoire by Cayetano Soto and Ihsan Rustem, as well as in the International Dance Campus ADAM with repertoire by Ihsan Rustem.
